Traineeship in OEM Engineering
Coláiste Dhúlaigh College of Further Education, in partnership with NOVUM, has developed an exciting new Traineeship designed to meet the growing demands of the Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) Industry. The course aims to deliver a practical understanding of Engineering Technology, CAD (2D) as well as providing industry relevant certificates such as Lean Manufacturing – giving participants the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and competence within Novum’s supportive working environment.
Novum, who are located in Clonshaugh Business & Technology Park, have been in business for over 60 years. As an established local employer, this expanding company plan to double their production over the next five years, developing groundbreaking technology in refrigeration, while transitioning to more sustainable low carbon products.
Course Structure
This 26-week course will combine classroom-based learning days in Coláiste Dhúlaigh with practical on the job based learning which is delivered in the host Company such as Novum or similar.

Fees/Allowance
There are no fees for Traineeship courses. Applicants may be entitled to travel expenses or a meal allowance. Those in receipt of a Department of Social Welfare payment may be able to continue to receive payments, please check with your DSP officer. €10 euro per day will be offered to cover travel expenses while on a work placement.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must hold one of the following: QQI level 4 certificate or above, LCA or Leaving Certificate.
Mature students, and those without a formal education, are welcome to apply for consideration.
Applicants must have a willingness to learn on the job and the ability to commit to the course.
Applicants whose first language is not English may be asked to complete an English proficiency test prior to acceptance.
Please note that applicants outside of the EU must hold a Stamp 4 letter to be eligible to apply for the programme.
