Barbering Course (part-time)

This is a one year part time course. The course aims to prepare students for employment in the barbering industry. Students will receive training and gain confidence in order to secure an apprenticeship in a Barbering Salon. Emphasis is placed on all key areas of Barbering which will enhance students’ techniques, creative and interpersonal skills. All practical training takes place in our fully equipped hair salon.

Course Content*

Barbering Techniques (QQI level 5), Customer Service, Workplace Safety, Teamworking, IT Skills.

Duration

1 year (Autumn – May)

Entry Requirements

To be BTEI eligible, applicants must be in receipt of or a dependent of a Social Protection payment before starting the course. Participants on CE schemes or TUS may apply also.

Progression

Successful learners may progress onto Hairdressing QQI level 5.

Career Opportunities

This is an area of study that offers excellent career opportunities in the Barbering Industry – Junior Barber, Theatrical and/or Film, Hairdressing work, Hairdressing retail outlets.
