Are you interested in working with the rehabilitation of injured individuals? If you are conscientious, with good communication skills and would like to encourage and motivate people in a sports and exercise setting, then this course is the perfect choice for you.
This award offers a wide range of modules which enables students to promote and maintain health and fitness through rehabilitation and conditioning, enabling people to restore function, return to sport or work and maintain a healthy lifestyle. You will learn how to treat and prevent injuries through hands on treatment and exercise rehabilitation plans.

Entry Requirements
- Leaving Certificate: A science subject is desirable but not mandatory. An O4 in Maths is required for those who wish to study in the UK or Northern Ireland but is not mandatory for further study in Ireland
- LCA – Distinction grade
- Mature students, and those without a formal education, are welcome to apply
- Students whose first language is not English will need to complete an English language assessment after applying

Career Opportunities
Students can gain direct employment across different sectors to provide rehabilitation sports and exercise services, such as with sports teams, injury and massage therapy clinics, gyms, leisure centres and health spas.
Work Placement links
We have excellent links with Exwell Medical. This is an established community-based chronic illness rehabilitation programme with a patient-centred ethos. Our students are working with these patients as part of their exercise rehabilitation programmes.
Additonally students have gained placement in gyms, hospitals, leisure centres and private practices.

Ulster University
Students can progress to Ulster University to study a BSc in Physiotherapy. To gain access to this course students must apply through UCAS. Students must initially complete the interview process with Ulster University, along with achieving 4 Distinctions and 4 Merits on our QQI course. Additionally, students must have a minimum O4 in Leaving Certificate Math (or QQI L5 Maths).

University of Sunderland
On full completion of our course students can apply through UCAS to several degree courses in University of Sunderland.
To gain entry to these two course students must initially complete the interview process with University of Sunderland, then pass all modules on QQI course and have a minimum O4 in Leaving Certificate Math (or pass at QQI Levell 5 Maths).
