The Animation department at Coláiste Dhúlaigh CFE hosted Keyframe10 this week. The event which is in its tenth year, was held in CDCFE’s Coolock campus, where award-winning professionals from the Animation industry gave talks and workshops to students.
Jam Media’s Jessica Patterson gave a talk on her work as director of the Oscar 2024 nominated short film “Worry World”. Other speakers at the event included Tom Getty, co-founder of Taunt Studios in Belfast who produce animated shorts in the Irish and English language for the BBC and Channel 5. Neev Brennan from Boulder media spoke about her work as a concept artist.
CDCFE graduate Amy Byrne who worked on the hit show Rick & Morty and is now a compositor with Boulder Media also spoke at Keyframe10. Children’s book illustrator Estrella Lourenco gave an address about her various roles both as a freelancer as well as working on Danger Mouse with Boulder Media. The event concluded with Patrick O’Callaghan, Art Team Manager at “Story Toys” App company based in Dublin.
Principal of Coláiste Dhúlaigh CFE, Patricia O’Brien Brennan, commented “Keyframe is such a useful and important annual event for our students, where they get the opportunity to gain valuable advice and information from industry professionals. We are immensely proud of the Animation course at CDCFE which produces industry-prepared graduates year on year”
The Animation course at CDCFE is a three year Higher National Diploma (HND), which leads to a fourth “top-up” BA degree year which is accredited by University of Wolverhampton. PLC courses cost €50 this year and applications for programmes starting in September are now open online, apply here
